Client FPSO Planning Specialist

Our client, a global oil & gas operator, require a Client Rep FPSO Planning Specialist to join their team on a long-term contract basis, initially in Singapore.

The Client Rep FPSO Planning Specialist is responsible for development and oversight of planning activities for the FPSO scope of work during the FEL3 and Execute project phases.

  • Monitor FPSO Project activities to ensure actual progress is in line with the approved baseline plan and advise management when deviations are observed or expected
  • Ensure that planning information follows ConocoPhillips corporate requirements and specific Project procedures
  • Ensuring that FPSO project management is fully informed when schedule risks/deviations are observed or expected
  • Participate in the development and execution of mitigation plans to minimize or eliminate schedule delays
  • Develop, train, and implement FPSO planning/scheduling staff, processes, procedures and systems in all site locations
  • Provide planning, scheduling and progress measurement requirements to be incorporated into tender documents; participate in bid evaluations and provide input as to bidders’ compliance with stipulated requirements
  • Develop and maintain the FPSO project schedule, covering all activities including engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, mechanical completion, T&I, hook-up, commissioning and start-up
  • Develop baseline plans and revisions for the FPSO and monitor progress against those plans
  • Review contractor schedules for completeness and contractual compliance, including analysis of logic, float, resources and level of detail
  • Monitor progress against contractors plans for all activities and providing information which accurately defines FPSO status against approved plans
  • Provide early warnings and mitigation recommendations to management when schedule risks are identified
  • Develop and maintain interfaces with the Pipelines/Subsea and Drilling teams and ensuring working interfaces are maintained
  • Provide schedule input into the quantitative risk assessment (QRA) process
  • Ensure progress is in line with approved plans and advise management when deviations are observed or expected. Provide corrective recommendations to management when deviations to the plan occur
  • Provide planning and progress information for monthly and weekly reports
  • Identify and monitor key performance indicators for the FPSO
  • Assist in the review of contractor invoices for consistency with the contract and work performed
  • Provide schedule impact analysis for scope changes / change orders 
  • Participate, as appropriate, in project performance improvement initiatives

To be considered for the role, you will display the following:

  • 20+ years of experience as a Client Rep Planning Engineer on major offshore oil & gas megaprojects
  • Extensive prior experience working as the client’s representative throughout the entire lifecycle of an FPSO project’s development
  • Proficient in use of Primavera P6 and Pertmaster
  • Proficient in use of Milestone Professional software package
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Teamwork and effective collaboration with various discipline personnel and with project management
  • Previous experience of working in Australia and knowledge of regulatory regime
